I snagged this screen shot from Brad's computer.  He's designing a performance board with a flat bottom and
an old style BONZER tail profile  It will be a 7'0" and, as you can see in the engineering drawings, it will be
geared for speed and performance.

If you aren't familiar with Bonzers, the rear of the board is channeled and usually has 3 to 5 fins.  The tail
section is designed to let each builder choose the tail  they prefer (squash, swallow , diamond, whatever).
Update!
The first bonzer prototype kit is
on its way to  Queensland,
Australia to be built and
evaluated by Justin.  We'll keep
you posted on his progress.
BONZER UPDATE!
Justin at Liquid Lifestyles in Australia is an accomplished woodworker and wood surfboard builder.  Who
better to build the first bonzer prototype?  Here are some pictures of the construction showing the bonzer
bottom.  We'll have action shots and a full evaluation soon.
You can see the channels cut in the tail ribs.  The bottom is planked in the usual way but the contoured ribs make the bonzer
bottom possible.  This is not a simple build and is only recommended for builders who have built at least one other wood
surfboard.  Stay tuned.  The bonzer will be in the water soon and we'll have a full evaluation.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
Glad you asked!  Justin also worked with Brad to design a super high performance fish called the "Fugu fish".  It has a dual
concave bottom and is another advanced build project.  Shown below are some construction pictures.  Justin is one of those
high energy guys who just can't stand to sit still and he talked us into sending him one of the prototypes to build while the
glue dries on the bonzer.  The result is that Justin now has two high performance boards almost ready for the glasser.  Check
out the construction pics below.
The frame resembles our other fish
frames until you check out the contour
of the ribs in the tail section.  The dual
concave provides a high performance
tail foil that hasn't been available to
wood surfboard builders until now.

Justin at Liquid Lifestyles worked
closely with Brad to design this
modern fish.  It will have all the fun
wave catching characteristics of a
regular fish but the bottom profile,
hard rails, and light weight take it to a
whole new level.  We'll have a full
evaluation from several riders soon.

By the way, the name Fugu fish came
from a Google search for "Dangerous
Australian Fish"  It looks friendly
enough - but its poisonous and the
inexperienced should beware!
